WWCG Troop Care Package Drive

What is it?
WWCG will be conducting a 2010 Troop Care Package Drive from April 1st through May 29th.

How can I participate?
By donating a “New” Twin Sheet Set or Care Package with a variety of items – personal items, snacks, entertainment goods, etc. Travel sized personal items work best as do individual sized snacks.  You may want to place smelly (soaps, body wash, etc.) personal items or items which may leak inside a smaller plastic bag to keep things from leaking or impacting other snack items.  You may also want to create a bag especially for a female soldier.  If you do so, please label the bag as “female”. A list of recommended items can be obtained in the WWCG Store. A donation bin is also located in the store for your contribution.

How do I package the items?
The care packages should be packaged in large zip lock bags.

Who will receive the donations?
The donations collected will be distributed to soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines deploying overseas.  The donations will be delivered to the Joint Readiness Center at Fort Dix where they will be given to members from all branches just before they deploy. 

Did you hear about the donation contest?
For each “New” Twin Size Sheet or Care Package donation, you will be entitled to receive a raffle ticket. When dropping off your donation at the WWCG store, please ask for a raffle ticket. Be sure to write your name, site # and phone # on the ticket and place it in the container marked “2010 Troop Care Package Drive”. The container will be placed on the counter in the WWCG store. The prize is a $100 gift card.

When is the drawing?
 The drawing will be on May 29th during the “Hero’s Weekend DJ Dance” starting at 7:00pm. You do not need to be present to win. 

Our service members are ready and willing to make sacrifices for the freedom and safety of our country.  Now, let’s show them that we’re ready to stand behind them.
